An asteroid is headed to Earth and you have to time your powerlift to launch objects at it. low it down as much as you can before time runs out. Face off against it in a final battle at the end, with your chances calculated from how much you slowed the asteroid's descent.

I had the idea of a Katamari like game mixed with quick time events... with hopefully some humor mixed in if it all comes out right.
